These rules apply to every listing and every trade on e-barter.
1. List honestly
- Describe the item accurately — condition, defects, and history.
- Use real photos of the actual item, not stock images.
- State your asking value in Barter Coins clearly.
2. Communicate inside the Deal Room
- Negotiate, share details and confirm the trade inside the platform.
- Do not move conversations off-platform to avoid fees or escrow.
3. Use escrow
- Fund escrow before handing over the item.
- Confirm receipt only after physically inspecting the item.
- Never share OTPs, passwords or banking details inside chat.
4. Meet at Safe Zones
For in-person exchanges, meet at a verified Safe Zone (police-approved or partnered location) during daylight hours. Bring ID. Tell someone where you're going.
5. Rate honestly
Ratings power Trust Points. Rate based on the actual experience — not on outcome alone. Manipulating ratings (fake accounts, retaliatory reviews, threats) is prohibited.
6. Respect other traders
No harassment, discrimination, threats, or hateful language. Disputes are normal — abuse is not.
7. Consequences
Breaking these rules can result in listing removal, lost Trust Points, account suspension or permanent ban, depending on severity.
